What’s included in a free Narcan kit?
If you’re interested in saving lives, allow our skilled educators to train you on the application of Narcan. Each free Narcan kit comes with:
- 2 doses of Narcan
- 1 face shield
- 1 pair of gloves
You could save a life today!
Are Narcan and Naloxone the same thing?
Yes, Narcan is one brand name of naloxone. Naloxone is the generic name for the potentially life-saving medication that can reverse an overdose from opioids when given within a certain period of time after the overdose.
Can I use naloxone on myself?
No, naloxone is administered to someone after an overdose has occurred. Because the individual who overdosed is likely unconscious and/or their movement and breathing are restricted, they would need assistance.
What to do if you think someone is overdosing
- Call 911 immediately.
- Administer Narcan, if available.
- Try to keep the person awake and breathing.
- Lay the person on their side to prevent choking.
- Stay with the person until emergency assistance arrives.
